Gizmodo state "Hyperkin is doing the lord's work with the Ultra Game Boy". You can adjust volume and contrast like with the original, but the Ultra Game Boy includes another dial to adjust the LCD backlit display.

Hyperkin is known for its lineup of retro consoles and introducing new ways to play old games.

Unlike Nintendo's remakes, this console won't come with pre-installed games so you'll need to dig out your old Game Boy and Game Boy Color cartridges if you want to play. This backlight can be adjusted throughout the RGB spectrum and can even be turned off, if that is your preference.

Hyperkin plans to release its version of the classic handheld this summer for less than $100, according to Gizmodo.

It hit an all-time high of $830 billion earlier this month, according to data from CoinMarketCap . With this news, many investors have started to sell the coins immediately.

The improvements don't stop there. The Ultra GB will also be chargeable through a USB-C port as opposed to the classic DC connector, so there are some modern upgrades. Why the improvements to the Game Boy's sound system when all of its classic games only generate mono sound? I doubt many will complain about this, however. While the case design only has the one set of holes on the bottom-right to stay true to the look of the Pocket, it's actually got stereo speakers as well as stereo-out, and one of the system's goals is to target chiptune musicians.

Hyperkin hasn't given a release date for the Ultra GB just yet but stated that it's aiming to launch by the end of the year.

"The Ultra Game Boy's housing is made from aluminum, which has a wonderful heft when you pick it up". Alternatively, you can try to purchase these titles online, though I suspect Game Boy cart prices will start to climb after this announcement. But it's not clear yet if it will provide emulator-style benefits like Super Game Boy color palettes, save states, and the ability to save ROM images of your actual cartridges.
