An Indian Army soldier on Saturday died in a ceasefire violation by Pakistani troops along the Line of Control (LoC) in Krishna Ghati sector of Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan Rangers started indiscriminate heavy shelling and firing on the worldwide border in RS Pura and Akhnoor sectors.

The injured soldier was evacuated to nearby hospital, where he succumbed.

He has been hospitalised. A jawan of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) was injured in cross border shelling in Jammu, officials said.
