Trump will be making a two-day visit to the World Economic Forum, where he will deliver a speech on Friday.

Mnuchin defended the US trade posture as good for the world.

Soon after he took office, Trump announced the United States was pulling out of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) signed in 2015 by a dozen nations that accounted for 40 percent of the global economy.

Mr Trump's decision earlier this month to become the first sitting U.S. president to attend the event since Bill Clinton in 2000 has prompted widespread head-scratching among numerous other 3,000 participants of the four-day talking shop on everything from tackling climate change to the rise of cyber attacks, corporate greed and sexual harassment. The oft-cited meeting in Davos in 1988 between Turkish prime minister Turgut Ozal and Greek counterpart Andreas Papandreou has been credited with averting a war, while Davos was the place where the Brics New Development Bank - an alternative to the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund - was conceived in 2011.

"I'd like to focus tonight on a fundamental shift that every single leader in this room can act on immediately.I'm talking about hiring, promoting and retaining more women", Trudeau said to loud applause in a speech to the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

In a report unveiled in Davos, British aid group Oxfam said the world's richest one per cent raked in 82 percent of the wealth created a year ago while the poorest half of the population received none. The summit in the Alpine resort was last attended by Bill Clinton in 2000.

Trump comes to the globally minded conference days after signing new tariffs to boost American manufacturers.

On Wednesday in Davos, U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin made comments supportive of a weaker dollar. He'll also sit for talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Paul Kagame of Rwanda, the current chairman of the African Union.

Chahal or Axar? Who will take more wickets for India? Kohli made 27 runs off 47 balls off those lengths at a strike rate of 57.44. The captains and match officials met after the stoppage and the only official word was that play had been called off for the day.

Trump recently canceled a trip to London for the opening of a new U.S. Embassy.

On the sidelines of the forum, themed "Creating a shared future in a fractured world", His Majesty is scheduled to hold meetings with a number of leaders and representatives of states, according to a Royal Court statement.

Trump will be the first US president to attend the Davos forum since Bill Clinton in 2000.

After meeting the prime ministers of Britain and Israel, Trump hosted a dinner with leaders of some of the world's largest corporations, including Nestle, SAP and Siemens, Deloitte and Bayer.

Trump is expected to claim that his business-friendly tax reforms and determination to tear up regulation have brought prosperity and a booming stock market.

They reiterated their appeal on business leaders to support those pledges.

There is broad concern in European capitals that 2018 could be the year Trump's bark on trade turns into bite, as he considers punitive measures on steel and threatens to end the 90s-era North American Free Trade Agreement with Canada and Mexico. Not only has her presence added elegance and grace to the diplomatic missions, but her global style has complemented her husband's America First foreign policy outlook. It's a pitch he's preparing to make at the World Economic Forum when he arrives Thursday in Davos, Switzerland.

"Forces of protectionism are raising their heads against globalisation". President Trump, accompanied by 10 Cabinet members and other top advisers, is fighting back at the global perception that the United States is anti-globalization and against free trade.
