Goal reported Wednesday the Germany worldwide had finalised terms on a new long-term deal worth £350,000 a week, bringing months of speculation over his future to an end.

German newspaper Bild claims that the arrival of Aubameyang will convince Ozil to stay at the Emirates Stadium with his contract ticking down at the end of the season.

According to BBC's David Ornstein, Mesut Ozil has signed a new Arsenal deal which would keep him at the Emirates until the summer of 2021. Becomes highest-paid player in club history on around £350k per week before tax. The MLS outfit have maintained their interest in him, however and it is understood he has agreed a deal with them to join them ahead of the new season Stateside in March.

Arsene Wenger has been adamant that the club are keen to retain the German despite him being in the final months of his deal and recently admitted that the signs coming from the midfielder seemed positive.

Ozil arrived from Real Madrid for a then club record fee of £42.5 million and has since established himself as a key player.

Alexis Sanchez, however, left for Manchester United in the current window, but there was a general belief that Ozil would commit to a new contract sooner rather than later.

Shortly afterwards it was announced Mesut Ozil ended months of speculation by putting pen to paper on a three and a half year deal.
