What Apple can learn from tepid iPhone X sales

2018 iPhones to rely solely on Intel baseband chips, KGI claims

2018 iPhones to rely solely on Intel baseband chips, KGI claims

According to a report by Apple Insider, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes the iPhone 9 with 6.1-inch LCD display will outsell the iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Plus.

Kuo previously expected Intel to supply 70 percent of Apple's modems, with the remaining 30 percent coming from Qualcomm.

It's unknown how long Apple's agreement with Intel would last, as the iPhone manufacturer might use its position as a bargaining chip in its string of legal battles. For the 2018 devices, the company is set to rely on Intel as the exclusive supplier, saying that it can meet the Cupertino-based company's technical requirements and offers more competitive prices.

It was May, off his wing, who was also the provider for the second as the speedsters caused chaos in the Eternal City. But next week's opponents Wales will have noticed some holes to exploit ahead of their clash at Twickenham.

A report in 9to5mac said that Intel's chip will support dual SIM and dual standby.

This report is the latest in the growing tension between Apple and Qualcomm over a major lawsuit on anticompetitive licensing practices. Intel shares were down 3.53 percent; Apple shares were down 2.5 percent; and Qualcomm shares fell by 6.57 percent.

It began what was seen as a push by Apple to oust Qualcomm from its parts-bins altogether, if possible, though that process may be unexpectedly quicker than predicted. That means Apple handed over as much as $40 to Qualcomm on an $800 iPhone. As mentioned, the iPhone SE managed to attract a loyal following, and credit goes to its more-than-decent specs and functionalities. Qualcomm's chips is needed for its CDMA support, on networks like Verizon and Sprint, while Intel's chips are used in GSM-only handsets intended for AT&T, T-Mobile, and others. After losing the iPhone business, Qualcomm will be more aggressive in securing orders from Chinese smartphone vendors. Apple may still approach Qualcomm for some orders as it negotiates concession in trying to lay legal disputes to rest. Instead, it's rumoured that Apple will contract Intel as its sole provider of cellular modems, trading out its reliance on one chipmaker for another. However, benchmarks have suggested that models with Qualcomm's Snapdragon X16 modem showed better LTE performance. Talking about Intel, Samsung recently overtook the U.S. chipmaker in its own game of chip making for the first time in 25 years, making former the world's biggest processor-making firm.
