Honda unveils new Amaze Civic launch in next fiscal

Speaking at the launch at the Auto Expo, Maruti Suzuki Managing Director and CEO Kenichi Ayukawa said, in the last few years, the company has moved forward under the principle of "Transformotion".

On safety, the all-new Swift embodies Suzuki's Total Effective Control Technology (TECT) for occupant protection and complies with frontal offset and side impact regulations and meets advanced regulations for pedestrian safety, claims the automaker. The new model comes with an introduction of auto gear shift technology.

The country's largest vehicle firm Maruti Suzuki on Thursday launched the third generation version of its popular model Swift with price starting at Rs 4.99 lakh.

Jamkash Vehicleades Pvt Ltd on Thursday launched the third generation of Maruti Suzuki's iconic and blockbuster brand - Swift in the presence of large gathering of esteemed customers.

The Swift first arrived in India in 2005 and has till date managed to sell a whopping 18 lakh units.

The model development cost for Swift is over Rs 700 crore. The new Swift will be available at an introductory price of Rs 4.99 lakh and goes up to Rs 7.96 for the top variant. As the expectations go, Suzuki Swift will a spectacular breathtaking auto.

It comes with more cabin space, headroom and luggage space than the outgoing Swift. The new Swift now comes equipped with dual airbags, ABS, EBD and Brake Assist and ISOFIX child seat restraints as standard across all the variants. While the petrol variant will have a 1.2-litre engine, the diesel option is powered by a 1.3-litre engine, the company said.

With a base price of Rs4,99,000 (ex-showroom, New Delhi), the Swift is one of the most competitively priced hatchbacks in the country.

The diesel model too has four manual - LDi (Rs 5.99 lakh), VDi (Rs 6.87 lakh), ZDi (Rs 7.49 lakh), ZDi (Rs 8.29 lakh) - and two automatic including VDi (Rs 7.34 lakh) and ZDi (Rs 7.96 lakh).

The 2018 Maruti Suzuki Swift could be booked at authorised dealerships for a token amount of Rs 11,000.
