Police in Toronto have recovered the remains of at least six people from planters on a property connected to alleged serial killer Bruce McArthur, officials said Thursday.

McArthur had been under suspicion since September in connection with the disappearance of victim Andrew Kinsman, with whom he had been involved.

Authorities have previously uncovered the remains of three people in flower pots on a property where he was said to have stored his tools.

"I can't get into which parts were found where, but they were all within planters that were recovered", he said.

The number of counts is likely to increase after the discovery of more remains, Detective Sgt. Hank Idsinga said during a news conference. Toronto Police urge anyone who hired McArthur to contact them.

McArthur has so far been charged with five counts of first-degree murder. McArthur was charged with the murder of Kinsman on January 18, 2018.

Investigators have since seized planters containing human remains from several homes across the Greater Toronto Area, including the one at Mallory Crescent where forensics experts continue to search for evidence.

Idsinga said that police "know the exact day" that Kinsman was murdered and can pinpoint the deaths of the other victims to "within weeks".

And the September 2 text came in the midst of the FBI's investigation of Russian meddling in the upcoming presidential election. Some of Strzok and Page's texts have drawn concern over what looks like more than general anti-Trump sentiment.

Idsinga said investigators were preparing to excavate the yard of the residence where the planters were found.

Investigators have not yet released complete details, but the 66-year-old McArthur is believed to have met his victims cruising around the city in the van he used for work and on gay dating apps for older and large men with names such as "SilverDaddies" and "Bear411".

"We did go to his apartment that he shared with his ex-partner for dinner once about 12 years ago. We're going through online applications and different apps".

McArthur is due in Toronto provincial criminal court on February 14.

In a brief statement to CP24, McArthur's son, Todd McArthur, said his family has been "going through hell". He's been accused of killing Kinsman, Selim Esen, Majeed Kayhan, Soroush Mahmudi and Dean Lisowick. Det.

He also said police were taking a detailed look at McArthur's extensive digital presence.

Idsinga also said that his team was working with officials overseas.
