Trump Said He Likes "Chaos" And Joked Melania Might Be Next To Leave The White House At A Charity Dinner

The comments came during Trump's speech at the Renaissance Washington Hotel, at an event that he skipped past year.

The New York Times: "I'm a New York icon".

Trump brought up his recent calls for tariffs on steel and aluminium, which have been criticized by USA trading partners. After all, this is the same Trump who during the campaign publicly mocked disabled reporter Serge Kovaleski by mimicking Kovaleski's movements simply because the reporter refused to support Trump's lie that Muslims in New Jersey cheered on 9/11.

He also landed this solid gag:"My staff was concerned that I couldn't do self-deprecating humor".

But much of Trump's comedy routine was going after people who are down on their luck. And he joked that he'd offered a ride to Jeff Sessions, but the attorney general had "recused himself".

President Donald Trump on Saturday night traded humorous jabs with a cabal of lawmakers, administration officials, media figures and military officers at the annual Gridiron Dinner in Washington. "What are you gonna do?" Last week White House communications director Hope Hicks became the latest member of Trump's administration to stand down from her post, following a spate of senior staff exits past year, including Steve Bannon, press secretary Sean Spicer, and Anthony Scaramucci, who lasted just 10 days as White House communications director.

Business dealings linked to Kushner and his family continue to draw scrutiny from investigative reporters, to the point where Trump joked about his son-in-law at the Gridiron: "You know, we were late tonight because Jared could not get through security".

MI can become the first Big Ten program to win back-to-back conference tournaments since Ohio State did so in 2010 and 2011. The second-seeded Boilermakers (28-5) won their fifth straight game and will face fifth-seeded MI in the title game today.

Besides joking about Pence and Kushner, Trump also slipped in a joke about the rumored state of his marriage in a departure from his usually more serious tone. And he made fun of Arthur Ochs Sulzberger Jr, who stepped down in December as publisher of The New York Times, saying: I inherited millions. [Adviser] Steve Miller or Melania?' ...

Trump using his wife as a punchline is nothing new.

According to USA Today, Landrieu joked that Trump could lead a New Orleans parade as "King Chaos". "I was very excited to receive this invitation and ruin your evening in person".

He continued by describing the recent turnover at the White House as exciting and invigorating. "Michelle Obama gives a speech, and everyone loves it - it's fantastic".

Referring to former White House aide Omarosa Manigault, who was forced out a year ago and has threatened to write a tell-all book about her experience, Mr. Trump said, "Somehow, we're still doing great even without Omarosa".

"Many people have asked me how my time as a reality TV star prepared me for the presidency, the truth is there's very little overlap between the two", he said.

Earlier in the week, Trump raised eyebrows by describing some local deputies who responded to the Parkland shooting as cowards, and claiming that he would have run into the high school building to try and stop the shooting, even without a weapon. Instead, he would be cheered nightly by adoring audiences across the nation.
