Scott McTominay: Man Utd midfielder's Scotland pledge a 'great coup' - Darren Fletcher

He was very impressive in the win against Chelsea, and now McTominay has decided he will play with Scotland not England in the worldwide scene.

Scott McTominay has been accused of electing to represent Scotland instead of England because he "wants his summers off".

McTominay has not yet represented Scotland at any level but attended training camps with the country's younger sides and previously admitted: "I'm probably more Scottish than I am English".

"He obviously wants his summers off".

According to The Times, McTominay had sat down with both Southgate and McLeish ahead of making his decision.

"He has shown his ambition hasn't he?"

Kelly: I have 'nothing to even consider resigning over'
Scaramucci also referred to Kelly as "General Jackass". "I never saw him mad or abusive in anyway", Kelly told reporters Friday. He said that he spoke to Porter after the second allegation and insisted that at this point, Porter had "already resigned".

"Maybe in the United team, (McTominay's) not the one that's looked for to be creating and scoring goals and you don't want that responsibility to fall on him".

The Irish Times cited a September 2016 interview with the club website, in which Scott McTominay said that he felt more Scottish than English.

It is understood McTominay has held long chats with Man United team-mates Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford, who have told him to choose England. He's consistently getting first team opportunities, even over better known and much higher paid star players at the same position.

'Fair play to the boy, if he feels a passionate Scotsman then it can only be a good thing for Scotland, because he is a seriously talented individual'.

He made his senior debut against Arsenal in May and has played 17 games, including starting the past three.

McTominay may have been included in Southgate's squad for this summer's World Cup finals in Russian Federation had he chosen to represent England.
