She says she will still work at Waffle House. Williams said she is working at Waffle House to save up for college. Per KHOU, Wolf happened upon the La Marque restaurant on a morning when 18-year-old Evoni Williams, a recent high school graduate, was working one of her shifts, trying to scrape together funds to pay for college. She added that the gentleman had required help because his hands were "not functioning too well".

"Without hesitation, she took his plate and began cutting up his ham".

"I was never raised to bash people", she said.

But on February 3 what she did for a sick, elderly customer was captured in a photo that went viral.

Seahawks trade Michael Bennett to Eagles as Sherman's future unclear
Considering the Seahawks almost traded Lane to Houston past year , they clearly have little faith in him as a long-term piece. Bennett joins Fletcher Cox , Brandon Graham and Derek Barnett as terrific pass rushers along the Eagles' defensive line.

The sweet gesture was rewarded Thursday with a sweet surprise by the City of La Marque. Not only was she honored by her town's mayor, after the photo and story went viral, Texas Southern University surprised her with a $16,000 scholarship. Williams said the man is a regular customer, but this was his first time back after a trip to the hospital.

"Because of her willingness to serve others and her giving heart to help those who come in contact with her now therefore we proclaim March 8 2018 Evoni Williams Day", Mayor Bobby Hocking told a crowd at the Waffle House where Evoni works, before presenting her with the cheque.

"I have my own day", she said smiling.
