Caroline worked her way up from intern to Press Assistant after joining Trump's White House in its early days. And she's been selfie-ing in Washington, D.C. since at least 2016.

Caroline Sunshine, the star of a former Disney Channel series, has a new role: she will be heading to the White House.

However, the 22-year-old has established herself outside her entertainment career.

However, there's no blatant showbiz favouritism here, as Sunshine originally applied to the internship through the White House's website.

The "Shake It Up" actress just became a White House staffer for the Donald Trump adminstration. However, according to recent reports, the administration has filled at least one of those positions by hiring a former Disney Channel star best known for her role in 2010 show about teenage dancers "Shake It Up" alongside Zendaya and Bella Thorne. "In college, she was involved with the American Enterprise Institute and an active member of her school's Model United Nations team", White House spokeswoman Lindsay Walters told CNN. The show ran from 2010 to 2013, and during that time, Sunshine also appeared in the movie, Marmaduke.

A biography for Sunshine and other media information does not mention what university or college Sunshine attended during her internships with the White House or McCarthy.

Her verified Twitter account is followed by 500,000 people. Most recently, CNBC host and conservative personality Larry Kudlow was appointed as the director of the White House National Economic Council and Fox News analyst John Bolton will be the next national security adviser.

The Trump administration has seen a number of high-level employees with television experience.
