Report: US Talks Secretly With North Korea Ahead Of Trump's Meeting With Kim Jong Un

USA and North Korean intelligence officials have spoken a few times and even met in a third country, CNN reported.

"The U.S. has confirmed that Kim Jong Un is willing to discuss the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula‎", said a second U.S. official.

The United States and North Korea are holding secret, direct talks ahead of the planned summit between US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, the media reported. "If there were such talks, we think it's a positive move. It's a good signal that the talks are going back and forth (between the United States and North Korea)".

The preparations for the Trump-Kim summit are reported to be made through the channel that runs between the Central Intelligence Agency and the Reconnaissance General Bureau.

Analysts said the efforts show that the U.S. intelligence agencies are taking the lead for summit preparations.

Trump and Kim were expected to meet by the end of May following talks between South Korean President Moon Jae In and Kim in late April.
