But the faithful felt a disturbance in the Force when director Ron Howard was brought in last June to steer the film to completion after Chris Miller and Phil Lord were ousted for creative differences. Thankfully the trailer exudes a science fiction western atmosphere reminiscent of Joss Whedon's Firefly, which in itself was inspired by the character of Han Solo. It opens with Qi'Ra asking Han Solo what is it that he wants: revenge, money, or something else? The movie, which was written by Lawrence and Jon Kasdan, also stars Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Paul Bettany, and Joonas Suotamo. Solo: A Star Wars Story flies into theaters on May 25.

The trailer was packed with set pieces and even some awesome throwbacks to classic Star Wars moments, but was it enough to get people excited for the new movie? The upcoming space adventure film will also introduce a new Han Solo theme by John Williams. The movie stars Alden Ehrenreich as a younger version of the iconic smuggler first made famous by Harrison Ford in the original trilogy. Han Solo meets loyal co-pilot Chewbacca and notorious gambler Lando Calrissian for the first time, bound by a desperate mission against impossible odds that will help shape the irresistible scoundrel audiences have come to love.
