Sauk Rapids Police Chief Perry Beise says the boy randomly cut three children at Pleasantview Elementary School on Monday morning, then went into the office and set the knife down. He was released to his parents due to his age.

The attacker will not be allowed back in school, the superintendent said. Watkins says he believes the injuries aren't life-threatening, and the students were taken to the hospital by their parents.
