N. Korea's testing freeze throws ball in US court ahead of summits

US President Donald Trump says that if his planned talks with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un are not fruitful he will "walk out".

North Korea has always been a source of worry for the world at large. We hope this indicates an effort to negotiate in good faith.

Trump, who is at his South Florida resort of Mar a Lago, was referring to North Korea's announcement Saturday that it will suspend nuclear tests and intercontinental ballistic missile launches ahead of its summits with Seoul and Washington.

The panel was moderated by former Ambassador Karl Eikenberry, who served as US ambassador to Afghanistan from 2009 to 2011.

The Korean Workers' Party's Central Committee declared it a "great victory" in the country's official "byungjin" policy line of simultaneously pursuing economic and nuclear development.

North Korea continues to make concessions ahead of the talks.

On Thursday, the South's president revealed that Kim had expressed his commitment to "complete denuclearization" of the Korean peninsula without seeking conditions.

North Korea's decision came amid a peace mood set up on the Korean Peninsula before the two Koreas are set to hold a summit on the southern side of the truce village of Panmunjom on Friday.

Along with these, Motorola is scheduled to launch the G6 Plus and a regular E5 model; but these shall not be launched in the US. Motorola announced the new Moto G6 series last night and at the same time it also introduced the entry-level Moto E series.

And Christopher Green of the International Crisis Group added on Twitter: "I don't see how North Korean statement constitutes a step toward denuclearisation".

'In terms of the pressure campaign, things we are very interested in are maintaining the pressure, meaning enforcing sanctions, ensuring that the North is not able to get access to funds that help further his nuclear and ballistic missile programmes'.

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe cautiously welcomed the development. Politicians, defense professionals, and people around the world anxious that North Korea could, in fact, send missiles all the way across the Pacific Ocean and into the United States of America.

The North has long demanded the withdrawal of USA troops from the peninsula and an end to its nuclear umbrella over South Korea, something unthinkable in Washington.

Thank goodness Kim Jong Un and North Korea never did so, seemingly stepping towards diplomacy in recent months.

The agency quoted Kim as saying during the meeting: "Nuclear development has proceeded scientifically and in due order and the development of the delivery strike means also proceeded scientifically and verified the completion of nuclear weapons".

Kim Jong Un's first meeting with world leaders came in China, when he made an unannounced visit to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping, news that only broke once the so-called "supreme leader" was stationed back inside North Korea's borders.

Six top South Korean officials will accompany Moon to the meeting, including his chief of staff, spy chief, national security adviser and unification, defence and foreign ministers.
