Rachel is thrust into a world of Asian billionaires where Nick's mother (Michelle Yeoh) isn't the only one who disapproves of their relationship. Like Crazy Rich Asians, this August's comedy that assembles a dream team of Asian actors for what looks like a lavish, indulgent, and amusing summer romp. She soon finds out Nick has omitted a few key details about his life - turns out his family is "crazy rich" and he's also one of the country's most sought-after bachelors.

It stars Singapore-based TV presenter Henry Golding as the lead Nick Young, and Constance Wu of United States sitcom Fresh Off The Boat (2015-present) fame as his girlfriend, Rachel Chu.

A tussel ensues between the mother and the lover in which Rachel doesn't seem in a mood to back down.

The film, directed by John M Chu, follows the couple as they travel to Singapore to meet his family, who she discovers are "crazy rich".

Crazy Rich Asians' highly anticipated first trailer was released on Monday, and it definitely didn't disappoint fans of the global best-selling book. The large starring ensemble also includes Henry Golding, making his feature film debut, Sonoya Mizuno, Chris Pang, Jimmy O. Yang, comedian Ronny Chieng, Remi Hii, and Nico Santos.
