Police today released the actual picture of one of the suspects wanted for the murder of Palestinian lecturer Dr Fadi M R Albatsh on Saturday.

"[Israel] can not stand that there are Arab and Muslim minds that identify with the Arab-nationalist ideology, and that is why it took out scientists from Iran, from Tunisia and also Lebanese scientists", Nasrallah told supporters.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun said with the latest development, police believe the suspect could be still in the country and asked those with information about the identity of the suspect to contact investigating officer ASP Shahrizal Salleh at 017-7134705.

Authorities had originally released computer-generated photographs of the suspects, who witnesses described as well-built and light-skinned, possibly Middle Eastern or European. We believe that the suspect has been using different or fake identities since the day he entered the country or while he stayed here.

He said he did not know if the perpetrators were still in the country.

However, Israel had issued a statement denying its involvement.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Subramanian Swamy on Monday extended his support to the decision taken Vice President M. Taking to the microblogging site, another party leader Vivek Tankha said Naidu's order was an anticipated shocker.

Israel did not immediately comment on the incident. Police said security video showed that the suspects had waited for him for nearly 20 minutes.

Batsh's expertise in making weapons could have made him a target - fighters in Hamas-ruled Gaza regularly fire rockets at southern Israel.

Israel claimed he was a Hamas member, but provided no evidence. He said Egypt had agreed to allow the body to be returned through its border with Gaza.

A Palestinian journalist passed away on Wednesday after succumbing to wounds he sustained after being shot by Israeli forces while covering Gaza border protests on April 13. But later its top leader accused Mossad of killing al-Batsh and threatened retaliation. Several Israeli Cabinet ministers welcomed the killing, regardless of who was responsible.

Israel has a long history of being accused of targeting wanted Palestinian militants in daring overseas operations and has been linked to other assassinations as well, though it has rarely publicly acknowledged them.

The coffin of Palestinian Fadi al-Batsh is carried inside a mosque for a prayer in Selayang, on the outskirt of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Wednesday, April 25, 2018.
