Bill Cosby's trial on three counts of aggravated indecent assault is now in the hands of the 12-person jury. Jurors received the case Wednesday shortly after 11 a.m

The first trial against Cosby ended in a hung jury past year after the jury deliberated for more than 50 hours over the course of six days.

"We are so happy that finally we can say, women are believed, and not only on #MeToo, but in a court of law", Allred told reporters.

The 80-year-old entertainer stared straight ahead as the verdict was read.

Cosby accuser Janice Baker-Kinney, who alleges he drugged and raped her in 1982, says in a statement she's relieved "this toxic chain of silence has been broken" and says the women can move forward "with heads held high".

The jury in Bill Cosby's retrial found the TV icon guilty of all three counts of aggravated indecent assault on Thursday for drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand at his home in a Philadelphia suburb in 2004. At times, they rebuked strong questioning from the defense, such as when attorney Kathleen Bliss asked Thomas whether she was testifying to help Constand. Jurors deliberated for 14 hours before reaching a verdict, the AP reports.

The girl was brought to the ashram by her parents. "As far as our legal views are concerned, we have tried our level best". Police forces in several parts of North and Western India are on high alert, fearing riots in light of the judgment.

Cosby remains free on his current bail, with instructions not to leave the country. His lawyer called Constand a "con artist" who levelled false accusations against Cosby so she could sue him. Witnesses for the prosecution in the retrial included five other women who also accused Cosby of drugging and assaulting them.

In a deposition he gave over a decade ago as part of Constand's lawsuit, Cosby acknowledged he had obtained quaaludes to give to women he wanted to have sex with, "the same as a person would say, 'Have a drink.'" The sedative was a popular party drug before the USA banned it more than 30 years ago.

Another new element in this year's trial was O'Neill's decision to allow the testimony of Marguerite "Margo" Jackson, a former colleague of Constand's at Temple, who testified that Constand once mused about framing a celebrity. "The women who have come forward are strong and fearless, and they have delivered hope to the countless women whose abusers have yet to be held accountable".

Cosby contended that their sexual relations were consensual. It was revealed that Constand received $3,4 million from Cosby after the two settled out of court. She told the Jury during the trial that Andrea Constand told her in 2004 when they worked together at Temple University that Constand could make up a story about being sexually assaulted by a celebrity to gain a cash settlement.

The exhausted panel called it a night after rehearing excerpts from Cosby's old deposition testimony, including his admission he gave quaaludes to women he wanted to have sex with in the 1970s. Constand was also pressed about the almost $3.4 million Cosby paid her in a 2006 civil settlement, which was previously confidential.
