Cros-Toure's attorney, who denied most of the allegations, confirmed that the girl did not attend school but said she was kept out of school because she had overstayed her visa and the couple feared that she would be deported.

The government alleges the couple brought the unnamed girl from Guinea to the US when she was 5 years old.

United States authorities have arrested the son of a former president of the West African country of Guinea and his wife for allegedly enslaving a countrywoman in their Texas home.

"She was also isolated from her family and abused emotionally and physically, the affidavit said, including assaults by ".belt or electrical cord".

On Tuesday, the Reds' bullpen blew a four-run lead in the ninth inning, although Cincinnati came back to win 9-7 in 12 innings. Sam Freeman (1-1) retired all four batters he faced and Arodys Vizcaino pitched a one-hit ninth for his second save.

The girl escaped from the home two years ago with the help of neighbors, including one she baby-sat for, reports the Washington Post. Throughout the years, until the victim escaped in August 2016, the defendants forced the victim to labor in their home for long hours without pay. "She wasn't considered a housekeeper", Mr Palmer said.

The couple have five children ages 15 to 27 who grew up with the alleged victim. She arrived in the worldwide airport of Dallas to meet up with family Round, which promised to arrange for her meeting with her relatives from Guinea, say the investigators.

Cheryl Maynard, whose lived in the same neighborhood says she thought something wasn't right at the house because she often saw the victim mowing the yard.

"Because they have boys and the boys were not out, I thought, 'Why the female? That is not anything we've been able to uncover and we don't believe that to be the case".

A federal judge in Fort Worth will decide Monday morning whether to keep the couple locked up or allow them to come home.
