Trump weighs decision on nuclear deal after Netanyahu's claims that Iran lied

The United States entered negotiations on Iran's nuclear program precisely because we didn't believe the claim that it had only peaceful purposes.

From his decision to speak in English to the simplicity of the slides he unveiled - including one that just said "Iran Lied" - Netanyahu's presentation appeared to be aimed at an audience of one: Donald Trump.

According to the head of the European Union diplomacy, Federica Mogherini, quoted here, the arguments of Netanyahu are not valid and the IAEA is the only one created to evaluate Iran's honesty. The German foreign minister has requested the IAEA to probe into Netanyahu's allegations.

As for what Trump might do in light of the documents, time will tell. "When we got this trove of 100,000 documents, we learned so many things we didn't know".

Echoing Netanyahu's warnings about Iran's regional ambitions, the hard-line for Central Intelligence Agency director added: "We remain deeply concerned about the escalation of Iran's threats to Israel and the region and Iran's ambition to dominate the Middle East remains".

"There were some pictures that were quite familiar to me", he said.

Canada supports the deal and last fall gave $1.5 million the UN's International Atomic Energy Agency to support its work in verifying Iran's compliance, and that support remains unchanged after Netanyahu's latest pitch.

And nothing in Netanyahu's speech this week suggests that Iran is now attempting to build a nuclear weapon - as Ron Dermer, Israel's ambassador to the US, acknowledged in an interview with NPR on Tuesday.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu took the stage in Tel Aviv on Monday to expose what he said was more than a decade of Iranian nuclear deception. But he failed to provide any sort of evidence. Iran has sent thousands of fighters to Syria to support Syrian President Bashar Assad, a military presence Israel views as a threat that must be stopped.

During a prime-time televised address carried by Israeli networks, he said: "Iran's leaders repeatedly deny ever pursuing nuclear weapons".

More importantly, the IAEA report indicates that the worldwide community was aware of Iran's clandestine nuclear activities.

Beijing says solving all China-US trade disputes at once is unrealistic
In doing so, China expected Washington to reciprocate and open its market to Chinese investment and competition, it said. But the diverse US trade delegation is likely to have differing views among its members on the merits of such an offer.

The defense minister said while Iran is fully observing its commitments under the nuclear deal the U.S.is moving to ditch the deal which proves "the Americans can not be trusted". The next deadline is May 12.

Ex-CIA chief Mike Pompeo replaced Rex Tillerson as secretary of state, while John Bolton was picked as Trump's national security adviser.

This means Iran didn't lie about the nuclear program but, as it turns out, Netanyahu did.

Other world leaders agree that Iran was lying - but say that is precisely why they struck a deal allowing for inspections.

"It confirms what we have long known", he said. Second, in order to have better control and monitoring of the ballistic activity of the Iranian regime.

Under the JCPOA, Iran undertook to put limits on its nuclear program in exchange for the removal of nuclear-related sanctions imposed against Tehran.

If it's not a good deal for the USA and Israel, shouldn't we prefer that it be over as quickly as possible?

"It is clear that the global community had doubts that Iran was carrying out an exclusively peaceful nuclear program", a German government spokesman said, as translated by Reuters.

That is what happened with the Munich Agreement and that is what is happening with the nuclear accords.

"This information should be studied and evaluated in detail", Agnes Von der Muhll, spokesperson of foreign ministry of France said.
