People stand in a queue to cast their vote for Karnataka assembly elections in Bengaluru on Saturday

A day after the perhaps most contentious assembly polls, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee Chief Dr G Parameshwara on Sunday made it clear that his party was not anxious about the hung assembly predictions by exit polls and expressed confidence of the ruling Congress party securing a comfortable majority of its own.

In Coastal Karnataka, the BJP has five seats and is fairly confident of winning them all.

While three TV channels predicted 80 to 114 seats for Modi's BJP, short of the half-way mark in the 224-member house, polls also forecast 22-43 seats for a regional group, Janata Dal (S), which could emerge as a kingmaker. Please note average of 6, 4, and 2 is 4. At 6 feet you drown! Some polls are still showing the mixed response and you can check India Today-Axis My India exit poll, News24 with Chanakya exit poll and others. Relax and enjoy your weekend.

"While we will get 130 seats, Congress won't cross 70". Siddaramaiah said he would step aside if the party high command wants a Dalit Chief Minister. Eight major polls Saturday predicted a median 26 seats for the party - with the higher end of the predicted range in some polls reaching 35-40 - a critical mass in a situation in which almost every poll sees both the Congress and the BJP falling short of the halfway mark of 112.

Allardyce is aware of talks between Rooney's representatives and the MLS side but said he had not yet asked to leave. Wayne is so level-headed. "I have a contract - a one-year contract".

BJP State president and chief ministerial candidate B.S. Yeddyurappa maintained that the party was bound to form the government on its own and that he would visit New Delhi on Monday, ahead of counting on May 15, to consult central leaders on the process of government formation. "We are coming back (sic)", he said. Shah also said in Goa that BJP would form the government in Karnataka. Siddaramaiah also said that he will now groom youngsters to fight against communal forces in the state.

The high voter turnout has triggered a political debate even as both the ruling Congress and the Opposition Bharatiya Janata Party claimed that it was an indication of the voters' mood in their favour. Soon after the polls, Siddaramaiah had said that Yeddyurappa was mentally disturbed.

The Election Commission had yesterday postponed polling in Rajrajeshwari Nagar seat to May 28, saying the current electoral process in the constituency has been "vitiated" by parties and candidates by trying to influence voters.

Speaking to reporters a day after the end of the polling in the state, the 69-year-old Congress leader said that the high command decision on making a Dalit leader the Chief Minister will be final and he will willingly adhere to it.
