Arbaaz Khan has been directed to appear before the police for a joint investigation on Saturday

A lot of chatter ensued online on Friday for all the wrong reason after Bollywood actor-turned-producer Arbaaz Khan was summoned by Thane Police for his alleged connection in an IPL betting case.

Khan, who has to appear for questioning on Saturday, was summoned days after the arrest of bookie Sonu Jalan, alias Sonu Batla, who allegedly used to run a betting ring in India and overseas.

The police say he worked for a kingpin of cricket betting who goes by the name of "Junior Kolkata".

Police further revealed Jalan had organised a bookie meeting in Dubai.

Arbaaz, brother of superstar Salman Khan, has been asked to appear before the Thane Anti Extortion Cell on Saturday, said Police Inspector Rajkumar Kothmire.

The police had recently busted a betting ring and had arrested 42-year-old Jalan, who allegedly operated in the country as well as overseas.

Fans were divided on Ye, since many claimed they were abandoning the musician after his multiple Twitter rants. Bobby Brown wants to slap Kanye West for licensing Whitney Houston's drug-littered bathroom photo.

He also suggested that Arbaaz's name came up while they were interrogating Jalan, the sleuths also got hold of photographs that feature other popular individuals from the B-Town along with prominent personalities from around the world and the police can summon some of them in the future.

Apparently, after arresting Jalan, it was found out that the bookie had a connection with Khan who as per reports had placed a bet through top bookies.

Arbaaz's father, Salim Khan, spoke to Times Now and said that the actor is currently now in town.

Jalan had been arrested for betting on IPL matches by the Mumbai crime branch in 2012 too, the official added.

The Investigating Officer, Pradeep Sharma said, the police are presently working to verify whether Arbaz khan indulged in any match fixing or not.
