Officials in Russian Federation have said they feel positive about the outcome of President Donald Trump's meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, and they hope that Russian Federation can be involved in the negotiating process to promote peace on the Korean peninsula.

"It's really breathtaking", said Michael J. Green, senior vice president for Asia and Japan chair at the Center for Strategic and International Studies.

"He can go to his people, North Korea, even though he doesn't have too many elections and say, look, I'm on par with the president of the United States", he added. I just think it's how fast he gets to it. The statement made clear that Pyongyang was expecting USA concessions before any moves by the North.

The official Rodong Sinmun newspaper carried four pages of photographs of Kim and Trump at the historic meeting, plus the full text of the letter the two leaders signed.

The National Security Council has said that it made the video Donald Trump showed to Kim Jong-un at their Singapore summit on Tuesday in an unorthodox effort to persuade him of the benefits of denuclearisation.

Photographs of Trump and Kim Jong Un crowded the first half of Wednesday's six-page Rodong Sinmun newspaper, the pair in various situations at the summit venue in Singapore. Trump said in a tweet aboard Air Force One on his way back to Washington DC.

He continued: "But Kim Jong-un?"

News of the decision to halt the drills stoked concern in Japan, with Defense Minister Itsunori Onodera calling joint exercises and the USA military presence in South Korea "vital" to East Asian security. The drills help keep USA forces at a state of readiness in one of the world's most tense flashpoints. Now that we meet and have a great relationship with Kim Jong Un, the same haters shout out "you shouldn't meet, do not meet!" "This is something that you know, good Lord we've gone through 5,6,7 decades with nothing that comes close to this response", Anderson said.

"He understands it", Trump said of Kim's response.

"For the United States, it would be hard to claim victory without winning the intrusive verification inside North Korea after Trump pulled out of the Iran deal", Park said. "Whether North Korea would agree to an intrusive inspection inside the country would be a major test of Kim's willingness to denuclearize", said Park Won-gon, a professor at Handong Global University.

In regard to the initial 12-second handshake between Trump and Kim, Reiman noted how Trump offered his hand first, an assertion of dominance.
