James Corden and Paul Mc Cartney on 'Carpool Karaoke'

It had been a magical mystery tour as Paul McCartney led James Corden through his hometown of Liverpool during a "Carpool Karaoke " segment on CBS' "The Late Late Show".

"I had a dream in the '60s, where my mom who died came to me in the dream and was reassuring me, saying, 'It's going to be OK".

"Your music is so full of positivity and joy and a message of love and togetherness", Corden said to McCartney. They also sang the music icon's new songs "Come on to Me" and "I Don't Know", which will be featured on his album Egypt Station (out September 7). "It's weird how it can do that to you", McCartney said after they belted the 1970 ballad. As McCartney walks around his old home, he tells the story of how his dad thought the song She Loves You should have the chorus of yes, yes, yes instead of the famous yeah, yeah, yeah. Then the two motorists launched into the song. I've never heard that.

Sir Paul sits down at the piano and plays When I'm 64.

"From there, they visited McCartney's childhood home - which he said helps him "realize how long the journey has been" for him" - before the two drove around town again, singing one of Paul's new songs.

DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen briefs from White House
Earlier Monday he tweeted: "It is the Democrats fault for being weak and ineffective with Boarder Security and Crime". Under current law, it is not legal to detain whole families who cross the border illegally.

"If my granddad were here right now, he'd get an absolute kick out of this", Corden added, with tears still in his eyes.

Shocking the homeowner with an impromptu visit, McCartney shows Corden around the house.

The pub-goers are seen putting an array of Beatles hits on the jukebox, before the curtain drops to reveal that McCartney will be playing them live.

"That's been one of the odd things", McCartney, around the five-minute mark in the video up top, told Corden of the lasting impact of the Beatles' message.
