India gears up to celebrate 4th International Yoga Day

After assuming power, Prime Minister Narendra Modi suggested celebrating International Yoga Day in the first address at the United Nations General Assembly on September 27, 2014. On the 4th International Yoga Day, PM Modi said, "Dehradun to Dublin, Shanghai to Chicago, Jakarta to Johannesburg, Himalayan highlands or sunburnt deserts, Yoga is enriching millions of lives all over the world". Hundreds of people performed Yoga asanas with the Chief Minister.

Yoga connect people from different nations and different walks of life, it fosters a sense of harmony among fellow beings and with the rest of the universe.

Mary Silva, a Philippines national account assistant, said: "I started doing yoga in 2016, and I practise every once in a while. Our chefs have always encouraged healthy eating as a way to aid our evolving lifestyle and this is one more occasion where through the Yoga session, we emphasize focus on maintaining individual wellness". He stressed that yoga should become a part of our routine activities and expressed concern that it is still not part of our daily routine. On the occasion of the fourth International Yoga Day, various events have been organised across the country.

In the first half of the 20th century, Western texts began to detail yoga postures, also known as "asanas".

Trump Reverses Migrant Separation Policy
The move reverses a tough policy under heavy pressure from his fellow Republicans, Democrats and the worldwide community. The executive order seeks more authority to detain families together until the end of their immigration proceedings.

The word yoga originates from Yuja, a Sanskrit word which means, "to join or to unite", symbolizing the union of body and consciousness. Instead of increasing sufferings, Yoga heals'. "I hope that Yoga can become binding force for the world", he said.

There was also floating yoga on board the Japanese naval ship JS Ise and on the Indian Navy's INS Sahyadri, both taking part in military exercises in the Pacific, the Indian Navy said.

Prior to the celebrations marking International Yoga Day, the Muktinath temple in Nepal took Yoga to a higher level when monks, spiritual teachers and locals practiced Yoga Asansas at an elevation of 12500ft above sea level on June 17, 2018. The Culture Minister spoke at length about the positive aspects of Yoga for keeping body and mind totally stress-free.The Minister said, as a doctor he is practising Yoga for almost 30 years.

Further, in Cape Town, a group of young people performed yoga on its historic Table Mountain. People all across the city participated in it and made it a grand event. Nor is yoga only what you practice in the morning.
