The warrant says that, as of Thursday morning, about 25 homes had been destroyed in the fire.

ICE has requested that Joergensen be turned over to them should he be released from jail.

Earlier, the Walker Ridge area had been under an evacuation notice, but on Friday night they were allowed to return home.

The sheriff's office announced on Twitter that the Sugarloaf Fire is burning in Grand County but not in the area near Nederland that is also called Sugarloaf.

In neighbouring Wyoming, about 150 firefighters tried to contain a wildfire burning in the Medicine Bow National Forest near the Colorado border.

According to officials, the fire is now 500 acres and growing, and crews do not have a handle on it just yet.

KTVZ reported that the 500-acre fire prompted a Level 3 evacuation order (leave immediately) for about 50 homes on the Warm Springs Reservation.

The first team will focus on the area south of the highway. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

A Red Flag warning has been issued for the fire area and will last through the weekend, Cal Fire officials said. There have been no injuries reported. The fire is now sending smoke across the bay area after doubling in size overnight.

Hot, dry conditions are fueling blazes in several Western states.

It's one of two major wildfires in the northern part of the state, where temperatures are soaring and winds are relentless. Cal Fire says the blaze is now 2 percent contained. The blaze northwest of Sacramento covers 109 square miles (280 square kilometers) and is burning largely out of control.
