Fire Capt. Dave Zaniboni says there's no wind at all Saturday morning - a far different situation than Friday night when the fire erupted and was spread wildly by 50 miles per hour (80 kph) gusts.

"Most of our active fires are occurring right now in the Rocky Mountain area which includes Colorado as well as the Great Basin area which includes Utah, Nevada and Idaho", Jones said.

North-northwest winds were blowing the embers and flames downhill and the fire was about a mile from downtown Goleta, county fire Capt. Dave Zaniboni said. It's estimated at 100 acres (40.5 hectares) or less.

Conditions are expected to ease Saturday, said Tim Chavez of Cal Fire. Jerry Brown to declare a state of emergency in Siskiyou County, has destroyed 72 buildings as of Sunday morning.

The Klamathon, which has destroyed 15 structures and blackened almost 22,000 acres (8,900 hectares), was only 5 percent contained as of Saturday.

California firefighters are struggling in the stifling heat to put out blazes that have prompted the evacuations of hundreds of homes.

Officials said Saturday morning "crews are now working to complete containment, and to mop up and fix areas impacted by fire suppression actions".

County officials on Friday night had said the blaze started as a structure fire that spread to the brush, but Saturday they indicated the original dispatch was for a vegetation fire.

The company also sells a wide range of pro-Trump merchandise, including a substantial number of "Make America Great Again" hats. The superstore's online platform sold apparel promoting impeaching the 45th president of the United States, Donald Trump .

Authorities say thunderstorms moving through the area Saturday generated a potential for gusty and erratic winds that can reach up to 25 miles per hour.

The fire is one of several that have ignited in southern California Friday, where temperatures topped 100 degrees. The body of a resident was found Friday in the ruins of a home, among 15 destroyed structures tallied so far. The fire continues to spread into the Klamath National Forest.

Farther north in Oregon, authorities urged hikers and other outdoors enthusiasts to avoid forested areas near the Oregon-California border, where a blaze has killed one person.

Multiple structures are threatened, damaged or destroyed, Brady said. Here's a look at the 2018 fire season in our region and the forecast for the summer. It had destroyed 18 structures and damaged eight others by Saturday morning.

Officials have opened up the burned-out area near a popular fishing lake 80 miles (130 kilometers) southeast of Salt Lake City, as well as a stretch of highway. The blaze has burned about 75 square miles (193 square kilometers) and destroyed 90 structures, including homes, cabins, sheds and garages, since starting Sunday in the mountains.

Duchesne (doo-SHAYNE') County Sheriff's officials say the fire near Strawberry Reservoir now is 30 percent contained, up from 25 percent on Saturday.

And in central Colorado's Park County, crews encircled a third of a spotty fire that forced the Buffalo Creek Wilderness to close.
