According to reports coming in George Clooney has been injured in a bike accident in Sardinia. The video shows what is reported as Clooney's scooter crashing into the auto while another scooter alongside him manages to veer around it.

The Oceans Eleven star was riding his bike at Costa Corallina when he collided with a auto. Local media representatives who had gathered at the hospital said Clooney left in a van through a side exit.

Clooney is thrown over the front of his bike and up in the air before landing on the asphalt, where the auto driver and other witnesses come to help.

The actor went to the hospital after complaining of a slight pain in his pelvis and bruises to the leg, La Nuova reported, but was released after tests showed he was fine.

The parents of the boys have maintained a constant vigil outside the cave since they went missing, praying for their safe return. The rescued boys had not been identified out of respect for the families whose sons were still trapped, officials had said.

A spokesman for the actor told the Press Association: "George Clooney was treated and released from an Olbia hospital".

Clooney is a frequent visitor to Italy.

Sardinia, a large Italian island in the Mediterranean Sea, is over 500 miles from Clooney's villa in Lake Como.

The actor is in Sardinia filming Catch 22, a TV adaptation of Joseph Heller's book of the same name.
