Trump And Putin Merged As One Person On ‘Time Magazine’ Cover



Russian President Vladimir Putin accused "powerful" forces within the United States of trying to sabotage ties between Moscow and Washington in the wake of a controversial summit with U.S. counterpart Donald Trump.

Mr. Trump later told CBS Evening News anchor Jeff Glor that it's "true" Russia meddled in the 2016 presidential election, and he "would" hold Russian President Vladimir Putin responsible for interference.

While several Republican lawmakers said they believed Russian Federation meddled in the presidential election, some criticized GOP leaders for not being harsher in their condemnation of Trump's performance in Helsinki.

Mr Trump notably flip-flopped repeatedly over what exactly he said to Mr Putin at the summit, and whether he believes that Russian Federation meddled in the 2016 election campaign on Trump's behalf.

She said the US hopes Putin will have the indicted Russians "come to the United States to prove their innocence or guilt".

On other points in his formal remarks, Putin lashed out at Europe and US -dominated North Atlantic Treaty Organisation, saying Russian Federation would hit back with an "equivalent response" to North Atlantic Treaty Organisation bases near Russia's borders and other "aggressive steps".
