Roseanne Barr disputes racist claims: 'I'm not that person'

Actress Roseanne Barr waves on her arrival to the 75th Golden Globe Awards in Beverly Hills, California, U.S., January 7, 2018.

Roseanne Barr appeared on Sean Hannity's Fox News show Thursday night, in her first television appearance since a racist tweet torpedoed her career. And for that I apologize. "I made a mistake, obviously".

Barr shed new light on the motivations behind her harsh critique of former Obama aide Valerie Jarrett, adding she "will always defend Israel" and her tweet was simply "asking for accountability" from the author of the botched deal.

Fox News host Sean Hannity, 56, scored the TV scoop of the year (so far) on July 26 and we couldn't take our eyes off it.

When pressed by Hannity about what she would say to Jarrett if the two spoke on the phone, she said, "Let's talk about it. Let's really turn this into a teachable moment".

"My kids took it away from me forever", she said. My life's work. I made a mistake and I've paid the price for it.

"I thought it was part of the - you know, what was put before me to do". I never meant that.

Barr said she did not know Jarrett was African-American.

"Now instead what happened, about 40 minutes after that, my show was canceled before even one advertiser pulled out, and I was labeled a racist", she said.

Roseanne has repeatedly apologized, and this time she looked into the camera and apologized directly to Jarrett, not so much for the tweet, but for what she perceives to be a misunderstanding.

Outrage after foul ball tossed to young fan grabbed by adult
So, who's the real victor ? However, the kid did not catch the ball, and it rolled under his seat to the row behind him. As you can see below, the whole goal of the Cubbies was to provide this young kid with a tremendous souvenir.

This is a developing story.

Addressing Jarrett directly, the comic said she "never meant" to cause hurt.

"Plus, I'd tell her she's got to get a new haircut".

Roseanne Barr is back on TV for the first time since she was sacked from her ABC sitcom for her now-infamous tweet.

Barr was sacked by ABC in May after comparing former Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett to a cross between the Muslim Brotherhood and a "Planet of the Apes" actor.

Using Jewish concepts, long-time acquaintance of Roseanne Barr, Shmuley Boteach yet again showed he is her most eloquent defender, bar none.

She also repeated her claim that she was under the influence of alcohol and sedatives at the time she posted the tweet. "I am somebody who cares about civil rights", she said.

She also said she found cigarettes in her mother's basement while she was hiding out there after the public backlash.

The American network said that the 10-episode series, which has the working title The Conners, will include John Goodman (Dan), Laurie Metcalf (Jackie), Sara Gilbert (Darlene), Lecy Goranson (Becky) and Michael Fishman (D.J.).
