Lakers News: Terrell Owens Thanks Kobe Bryant In 2018 Pro Football Hall Of Fame Speech For Setting Gold Standard

In a minor departure from tradition, and possibly for health reasons, Beathard's acceptance speech was prerecorded and shown on the video screens in the Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium, while Beathard was on stage. "Whether it's three years or 45 years, you should get what you've rightfully earned".

"Bill George, Dick Butkus, Mike Singletary ... and now, I can barely say it, me", Urlacher said. An eight-time All-Pro and inside linebacker on the 2000s NFL All-Decade Team, he had a franchise-record 2,643 career tackles.

"I love everything about football: the friendships, the coaches, the teachers, the challenges, the opportunity to excel".

"If you checked your pride at the door and are not ashamed ... all my teammates, coaches, equipment managers, trainers - if you're in attendance today - I want to thank you because it doesn't take one, it takes all 11 of us", Moss added. "I wanted to be a little different than the average kid, and that really propelled me the rest of my life".

Urlacher turned his Hall of Fame enshrinement into a Bears family reunion and made one thing obvious for everyone to see: He's all grown up now.

He also heaped praise on the current Vikings team that has lofty expectations. "You blessed me", Dawkins told Thomas. "Being able to work two or three jobs to provide for us, you took care of us".

"I'm proud of who I am, " Owens said. There is not one.

July 2018 Jobs Report: Payroll Growth Slows
One cloud on the horizon has been the Trump administration's trade fights with China, the European Union , Canada and Mexico. The July jobs report indicated that U.S. employers added 157,000 jobs on net last month, fewer than economists expected.

So wasn't any real surprise that after waiting two years to be voted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Owens accepted his sport's highest honor in the same negative fashion in which he played the game: selfishly and as a bad teammate. He instead chose to have his own ceremony earlier in the day at his alma mater, the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

Brian Urlacher and Ray Lewis were both first-ballot choices at middle linebacker to be enshrined Saturday night.

He discussed the influence his late mother and other members of his family had on his career.

Urlacher added he loved "everything about football".

"I didn't just compete to beat the other person. I've joined a new team and my goal is clear: To lift up my brothers and sisters, to inspire the leaders of this next generation to fight for love".

"Football did not define me, but it has clearly helped me to be a better man".
