Trump’s White House Fails to Keep Flag at Half-staff to Honor McCain

The absence of a formal communique from the White House has raised eyebrows and was all the more conspicuous after Vice President Mike Pence along with most of the cabinet, Press Secretary Sarah Sanders and all the living former presidents had issued their own statements over the weekend.

It was in July of this year that McCain was diagnosed with a brain tumor.

Sen. John McCain's Vietnamese jailer said he respected his former inmate and felt sad about his death, as others in Vietnam paid their respects to the former us navy pilot who became a prisoner of war and later was instrumental in bringing the wartime foes together. With the Senator when he passed were his wife Cindy and their family.

Over the a year ago and a half of his life, McCain was one of President Trump's biggest opponents, appearing to put his beliefs of what he thought was best for America, over partisan politics.

- CJ (@CJintheKeys) August 27, 2018This morning I woke up to find out the White House flag is at full staff. The White House had lowered its flag to half staff on Sunday, but shortly after midnight, it was back at full stalf, in a clear break with precedent - which dictates that it be lowered until burial - and the US flag code. But presidents have the power to issue proclamations extending that period.

Travers also noted that flags at the Washington Monument remain lowered.

Asia Argento Paid Off Her Own Sexual Assault Accuser
After giving him alcohol, Argento kissed him and performed oral sex on him before the two had sexual intercourse, the report said. Neither Argento nor any of her representatives responded to requests for comment on the Times' story, it was reported.

"@CBSThismorning reached out to the White House to learn about its plans for the flag today, but it declined to comment", the tweet read.

"Still not a kind word about McCain himself", Hume tweeted about Trump's statement.

"Senator McCain requested both former Presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush speak at and deliver eulogies at his funeral", said co-host Norah O'Donnell.

One of McCain's long-serving Senate colleagues, Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said Sunday, "The nation mourns the loss of a great American patriot, a statesman who put his country first and enriched this institution through many years of service".

McCain was the central figure in one of the most dramatic legislative failures of Trump's presidency when he returned to Washington shortly after his cancer diagnosis and cast a decisive vote to scuttle a Trump-backed bill to repeal Obamacare.

"Our hearts and prayers are with you!"

McCain died of brain cancer on Saturday at age 81 in his home state of Arizona. A private service and burial are scheduled for the next day at McCain's beloved United States Naval Academy at Annapolis, Maryland.
