Legend also became the first black man to conquer the EGOT and the youngest victor.

The singer struck gold at Sunday's Creative Arts Emmys, where "Jesus Christ Superstar, Live in Concert" was named Outstanding Variety Special.

At 39, Legend is one of the the youngest ever EGOT winners and also became the first African-American man to snag that honor.

Both Legend and songwriter Robert Lopez, the most recent EGOT victor in 2014, were 39 at the time they won.

The music superstar celebrated his EGOT win on Instagram, sharing a photo of the three new winners Sunday night.

He won his first of 10 Grammy Awards in 2006. So honoured they trusted me to play Jesus Christ.

Kane to wear golden boots in England's clash with Spain
For now, Kane is just happy to be back with players he shared such a special time with in Russian Federation over the summer. Kane will no doubt be looking forward to his first England match since the end of the World Cup .

Legend joins an elite club of only 15 stars to win in competitive categories at each of showbiz's biggest awards shows: Emmys, Grammys, Oscars and Tonys.

Legend is months away from his 40th birthday, Lopez - who reached the status in for this song "Let It Go" from Frozen - made EGOT status a week after his 39th birthday. So happy to be part of this team. So amazed to be in such rarefied air.

He said: "She was supposed to be taping "Lip Sync Battle" while we were here, and she convinced her producers to push the second show back so she could come here in between shows and see if we would win this EGOT".

Obviously Teigen posted loving comments towards her husband for his win, but none are quite as good as the subtle but hilarious comment on the post.

"I was hoping that I would not disappoint her and make her trip a waste of time".

So, now that Legend, Rice and Lloyd Webber now EGOT status, does that mean they also get a diamond-encrusted chain? Legend has also won 10 Grammys - out of his 28 total nominations - having earned his first in 2005.
