It says: 'Storm Helene is expected to move northeastwards across the British Isles later Monday and early Tuesday before clearing into the northern North Sea by early Tuesday morning.

There will be heavy rain for south-west England, Wales, Ireland, north-west England and Scotland with strong and gusty southerly winds throughout the afternoon and evening.

The Met Office had said on Friday that the storm could bring hazardous conditions when it travels through the north of England, Wales and Ireland.

As stated on their website, a wind warning has been issued for the whole country and it's in place from Wednesday 19 September 05:00 to Wednesday 19 September 17:00.

A severe weather warning issued by the Met Office has come into effect tonight as Storm Helene threatens to unleash strong winds in western and central parts of the UK.

Forecasters are warning the Atlantic hurricane could bring an area of low pressure - sparking soaring temperatures and potentially causing a mini-heatwave.

The weather warning - which covers Wrexham and - is in place from 9pm this evening through until 6pm on Tuesday.

Amazon's Jeff Bezos to start $2 billion charitable fund
Last year Bezos solicited advice from the public via Twitter, asking how he could best use his wealth to help people "right now". Within this, the Day 1 Families Fund will support existing non-profits that offer shelter and food to young homeless families.

It'll remain quite blustery through the day, with a mostly fresh or strong South West wind continuing to give gales in the North and West.

However, the severity of the winds expected has lessened, the Met Office said.

There is also a chance that rail, air and ferry services may be affected in some areas, with longer journey times and cancellations possible.

While some outlets have already begun referring to depressions in the Atlantic as Storm Ali and Storm Bronagh, Met Éireann has said that neither have actually been named yet.

By Thursday, heavy rain is expected, especially in western parts of Wales and the north-west of England.

It added: "Florence is expected to produce heavy to excessive rainfall over the next couple of days".

The winds will gradually ease later on Wednesday.
