Cristiano Ronaldo is set to be available for Juventus' Champions League double header against Manchester United, with UEFA unlikely to impose further punishment for his red card against Valencia.

UEFA says its disciplinary panel will judge the case of Ronaldo's first Champions League red card on September 27.

If they had deemed otherwise, Ronaldo would have missed his return to Old Trafford in late October and potentially the game in Italy too.

Despite Ronaldo's red card, Juve still went on to win the match with Miralem Pjanic scoring two penalties in each half of the match.

On first inspection, and then with the benefit of replays from all angles, Ronaldo's dismissal following his clash with Valencia's Jeison Murillo appeared soft.

Speaking to DAZN sports streaming network, 24-year-old Can was quoted as saying: "I just found out it (the red card) was because he pulled Murillo's hair".

Emre Can apologised for his comments regarding Cristiano Ronaldo's red card versus Valencia in their Champions League opener earlier this week.

Referee, after consulting the fifth official, made a controversial decision and gave Cristiano Ronaldo a marching order and the 5-time Ballon d'Or victor responded emotionally and left the pitch crying.

Ronaldo's sister Katia Aveiro took to Instagram to voice her displeasure at the decision, which ended the Portugal captain's first Champions League appearance for Juve.

"He was sad after the match, very sad, and we were all sad for him".

He will find out next week whether his one-match ban is extended.

"I thought the performance was very good tonight; the only disappointment was that we didn't score more", said Bale. "If you give cheap goals away it is hard".
