HMD Global on Thursday announced the latest addition to its smartphone portfolio in the form of the Nokia 7.1, a feature-packed mid-ranger that offers a wide variety of functionalities and capable hardware at an extremely affordable price. Also, like it or not, there's a notch display.

Moving on to the other specs, the 7.1 boasts a 5.84-inch full HD+ HDR10 display with a layer of 2.D curved Gorilla Glass 3 on top. While the base worldwide model of the handset offers only 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage space, the one that's set to be available in the US will feature twice as much flash memory and 4GB of RAM. That's not all, you'll be able to enjoy higher contrast (1,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio) even with standard content, as the smartphone is able to convert normal videos to HDR ones real-time. Already, HMD rolled out the Pie update to its best smartphone till date- the Nokia 7 Plus, and it has changed the device drastically. Here are all the details on the new Nokia 7.1. The phone comes in 3GB/4GB and 32GB/64GB storage options along with a microSD card slot for storage expansion. On the front, there's an 8-megapixel f/2.0 camera. The fame is a little more polished and refined on the Nokia 7.1. There's been a wave of rumours regarding a new Nokia device or multiple devices to come out in October; the brand has kept the lid on which model it could be ahead of their launch today in London.

As is the case with other Nokia handsets of late the phone has a ZEISS branded camera set up with dual 12Mp and 5Mp sensors on the back. Aside from the main camera, those are pretty average specs these days but you do get various photo modes including pro and bokeh. The True Wireless earbuds offer 3.5 hours of play time, are waterproof, and can get three charges from the wireless charging case. There's a 3060mAh battery included, and HMD says that you can get 50 percent of your battery back in 30 minutes using USB-C fast charging. It runs Android Oreo straight out of the box, but it will be available to upgrade to Android Pie in November.
