Usain Bolt reignites A League bid with clinical brace for Central Coast Mariners

The A-League side played against Macarthur South West United in a friendly, with Bolt firing home two goals.

After a relatively quiet first half, Bolt came alive in the 57th minute when he showed his pace and strength to outmuscle a defender and buried a left foot strike past Eze Consoni.

His second goal came in the 68th minute when he took advantage of a defensive blunder and tapped in an empty-netter.

Witnessed by more than 6,000 people at the stadium, Bolt broke into his trademark celebration move after the first goal.

"The season is coming up now, so we have to sit down after this game and figure out what we're going to do but until then, I'm just here to train and to continue,"' Bolt said. "I'm keen to be a Mariner, and get into the team". "He's playing in a different position than he was in the first game".

The Mariners were winning 1-0 in the 55th minute when Bolt struck. I'm here to prove to the world that I can be a footballer and I can push myself and see how far I can go.

Ahead of the match, Bolt had said that this will be a make a break match for him and it will determine what the club wanted to do with his career.

The Everest barrier draw succeeds despite protest
Almost 3000 people are also expected to attend a protest at that time to disrupt the Everest projection with torches and mobile phone lights.

To be fair to Bolt, his opener was a great finish.

Bolt joined the A-League club in August for an "indefinite training period". His touch on the ball and ability to evade defenders is still very much a work in progress, as is his positioning and vision.

Bolt was asked by a Brazilian reporter if he should now be called "Bolt, the soccer player".

He played the entire second half against the North Shore Mariners on September 19, when he alternated between left wing and forward.

"In the initial dispatches talked about he needed time, I said at the time we will give him 12 months if need be", Mulvey said.

Already this year, the world's fastest man has trained with Norwegian club Stromsgodset, German club Borussia Dortmund and South African club Sundowns.

However, it should not be forgotten that the opposition in this match was not the same standard as Bolt will face should he secure a contract to play in the A-League.
