'Call of Duty: Black Ops 4' Racks Up $500 Million in Sales in 3 Days

Having earned over half a billion dollars in its first three days of release, Black Ops 4 has set the record for the biggest digital launch for Activision, surpassing last year's Call of Duty: WWII, which eventually crossed $1 billion with a month of release.

The latest entry into the hit shooter franchise, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, has been out for nearly a week, but in its first three days the game has already set a new record for Activision with over $500 million grossed, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

That's significant as successful launches aren't enough to dub a game a success these days. "There's much more to come, we're just getting started".

Black Ops 4 has also had more Twitch views than any other CoD title in franchise history. "Black Ops 4 is designed as a more event-driven game, and the Featured playlists will serve to rally the community around different ways to play each week". "It is perhaps odd, perhaps even guilt-inducing, to take such pleasure from a game that wears its gung-ho military fetishism as a badge of honour, but as it stands this is the most enjoyable Call of Duty game for several years".

Popular battle royale games like Fortnite make it easy to figure out which weapons are the best by using a color-coded system.

While Activison has already announced how commercially successful Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is, it seems they're not done just yet!

Despite being released for just nearly a week, PC hackers already managed to code Black Ops 4 auto aim hack. "Sure, there isn't a traditional single-player campaign, but with the depth and breadth of what is there, Black Ops 4 doesn't need it".

All sorts of metrics have skyrockted thanks to this mode and the game's multiplayer-only focus.

The number of users playing the PC version of Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII, which is the first entry in the series on Blizzard's Battle.net, is also more than double year of year.
