Sterling combination play with Sergio Aguero and David Silva caught the eye as Southampton simply could not deal with City's flamboyant front line as they took their total goal tally for the season up to 33.

But they are just scraps of consolations, because City had already won the game and gone into cruise control by then, and besides they still shipped more goals.

It took a further six minutes for City to double the lead, Bernardo Silva setting free Sterling on the right and the England forward selflessly squaring for Aguero to hammer in from close range.

It was Sterling who got the game's next goal too on 67 minutes before Leroy Sane put the icing on the cake after the 90th minute to make it six.

Fulham won't be easy on their own turf, but they are a team around the bottom like Saints and you can not afford to get beaten in these games to avoid getting sucked into the bottom three.

Sterling struck twice either side of the break and then passed up a hat-trick chance by teeing up Sane's late sixth.

Trump Discusses Trade Issues With China's Xi
Stock markets in China gained on Friday after US President Donald Trump said trade talks with Beijing were "moving along nicely". China's Premier Li Keqiang, right, speaks next to Tennessee Senator Lamar Alexander during a meeting with a group of U.S.

What does it mean? "I feel like I'm helping the team, I feel confident, I just want to keep going this way and hopefully at the end of the season we'll celebrate some more titles". That in itself is impressive. The England global was absolutely everywhere, no wonder he is reportedly in line for a new five-year contract.

Raheem Sterling hopes to give Manchester City fans plenty more reason to chant his name after starring in Sunday's demolition of Southampton.

- Southampton are winless in nine games at the Etihad Stadium (D1 L8) since winning their very first game there in April 2004.

Only Arsenal icon Thierry Henry and Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney had scored 150 league goals for the same club prior to Aguero's strike against the Saints.

City, who required a goal in the 96th and 94th minute to earn all three points in last season's games against Southampton, have now scored five or more goals in a league game under Pep Guardiola on 15 occasions.
